🌑 A LITTLE ECLIPSE REMINDER… PLEASE DON’T CHARGE YOUR CRYSTALS TONIGHT 🕯️✨

Quite a few people have messaged me asking whether they should put their crystals outside to charge under tonight’s New Moon, so I wanted to repost something I’ve spoken about many times before.
If you know me, you’ll already know what I’m going to say…
Please don’t charge your crystals during an eclipse. 🤍
Tonight, Wednesday 12 August, we have a New Moon Solar Eclipse. Here in the UK, the eclipse begins at approximately 6:17pm, reaches its maximum at around 7:13pm, and finishes at approximately 8:06pm.
Although this is a total solar eclipse elsewhere in the world, here in the UK we experience it as a deep partial eclipse. 🌑
And I want to make something really clear…
You can absolutely work with your crystals today ✨
Hold them. Wear them. Meditate with them. Place them around you. Work with whichever crystals you feel drawn to.
Just don’t put them outside to charge or cleanse them in the eclipse energy.
I personally never charge or cleanse my crystals during eclipses or Mercury retrogrades. Eclipse energy can feel intense, unpredictable and disruptive, and for me, this isn’t the energy I choose to imprint into the crystals I work with.
And there’s another part of today’s energy I think is really important…
Don’t feel you have to start something new just because it’s a New Moon.
Normally we associate a New Moon with new beginnings, intentions and manifestation, but an eclipse changes how I personally work with that energy.
This is a time to pause rather than push.
If you have a big decision to make, you don’t necessarily need to make it today. If your thoughts are going around in circles, give them some space before deciding what is true for you.
And be mindful of whose opinions you take on. Other people may be processing their own emotions, fears and uncertainty too. Listen, but come back to yourself before making your decision.
Let things come up. Write them down. But you don’t have to act on them yet.
Eclipses have long been associated astrologically with revelation and bringing things that have been hidden into awareness. So if something surfaces today — an emotion, a pattern, a truth, an old memory or something you suddenly see differently — don’t immediately push it back down.
Write it down.
Sit with it.
Observe it.
Let yourself see it.
You can decide what it means later.
Even though we are in Leo season, at the closing of the Lions Gate Portal, and this New Moon carries significant energy, during an eclipse I stay inside.
For me, eclipses aren’t a time to be outside trying to absorb more energy, manifest more or perform big rituals.
They are a time to go within.
So from around 6:15pm tonight, you’ll find me inside with my crystals, lighting a candle and simply holding the light. 🕯️
No forcing.
No charging.
No rushing into something new.
No making decisions because you feel you have to.
Just stillness, reflection and allowing whatever needs to surface to be seen.
So tonight, keep your crystals safely inside. You can still work with them, but don’t charge them in the eclipse energy.
Light a candle.
Take out your journal.
Write down what comes up.
Listen more than you act.
Go within.
And allow the eclipse to pass. 🌑🕯️✨
There will be time for action.
Today is not a day to Manifest — Allow the Cycle to Close, allow the Lions gate portal to close too.
There is something really important I want to add here.
Although this is a New Moon, today is not a day I would use for manifestation, intention setting or calling something new into your life.
Normally, a New Moon invites us to plant seeds and think about what we want to create next. But this New Moon sits within a Solar Eclipse in Leo, at the closing of the Lions Gate Portal, and for me that changes how we work with the energy completely.
Today isn’t about beginning. It’s about allowing something to end.
The crystals I have shared with you throughout the Lions Gate Portal can absolutely still be worked with today. Hold them, meditate with them, place them beside you and allow them to support you. But rather than asking them to amplify a manifestation, use them to support stillness, awareness, release and integration.
Allow the eclipse to show you what has completed its cycle.
Perhaps there is a version of you that you have been carrying for too long. A role you automatically step into. A habit you keep repeating. The need to keep everyone happy. The tendency to say yes when you really mean no. The part of you that apologises for taking up space, hides how you really feel or continues performing a version of yourself that no longer feels true.
You don’t need to fix any of it today.
Just notice it.
If something comes into your awareness, write it down. If an emotion surfaces, allow yourself to feel it. If you suddenly recognise a pattern, don’t rush to decide what happens next.
There will be time for decisions.
There will be time for action.
There will be time to create again.
Today, allow the chapter to close before you begin writing the next one.
Rest. Restore. Reflect. Let your nervous system settle. Stay inside during the eclipse, light a candle, sit with your crystals and hold the light rather than trying to pull more energy towards you.
The Lions Gate Portal has been asking us to remember who we truly are. Perhaps its final invitation isn’t to manifest another version of ourselves at all.
Perhaps it is simply to release the version we no longer need to be.
Let the eclipse close what is ready to close.

Tonight is about awareness.
I’ve shared a more detailed post about this previously, but as so many of you have been messaging me today, I wanted to put this reminder here again. Just because it’s the closing of the Lions Gate Portal and New Moon, don’t rush with your plans. Stay still for a day, allow the eclipse to pass.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply stay still and hold the light 🤍🦁✨💫
